SORRY COURSE FULLY BOOKED
On this colourful course you will produce a batik painting and a selection of handmade cards using traditional batik techniques. Tjanting and brush work, cracking and dipping, painting and layering colour, batik has never been so vibrant and inspiring!
A bit about your tutors
Sarah and Marie Therese both have many years of experience running workshops with adults and children.
Marie-Thérèse King
‘M’ studied Graphic Design at Glos CAT and Multi-Disciplinary design at North Staffs Polytechnic, specialising in sandblasted glass. Her passion is 2D design and her favourite medium is Batik, she has exhibited her own work widely and been an active member of the 'Worcestershire Guild of Designer Craftsmen' for 10 years.
In 2003 M decided to share her enthusiasm for batik and set up ‘Art Workshops’ producing giant batik hangings designed and made entirely by children. This business flourished and is now part of Eekbatik. M exhibits and demonstrates her work at Art in Action, Waterperry, Oxford.
Sarah Jones
Sarah trained at Camberwell Art College in Printmaking and Graphic Design. Her career has spanned music, homoeopathy and art. She is experienced in running batik workshops with adults and children. This year 2009 Sarah will be a guest exhibitor with the Worcestershire Guild of Designer Craftsmen
