Paul Weaver
Watercolour Painting Tutor
Making the most of the beautiful Cotswold scenery, Paul will combine sketching and painting outdoors with studio work, guiding you through his techniques for capturing the light, mood, atmosphere and an impression of the landscape in a fresh, dynamic style.
A bit about your tutor
Paul Weaver is a full-time artist, painting for commissions and exhibitions as well as demonstrating and running workshops for many art groups across the country.
His primary inspirations are light and atmospheric effects. Townscapes, markets and the bustle of the city are favourite subjects, as well as landscape, marine and coastal scenes. He currently specialises in watercolour, but also enjoys working in line and wash, oils and coloured pencil.
Paul Weaver began his creative career in the Graphic Design and Illustration industry, studying at Brunel College in Bristol and then going on to work for several leading design and publishing consultancies across the South West for 20 years.
Regarding painting Paul is self taught, but has always maintained that it is the strong foundation in drawing from observation passed on from his father Brian that has been vital in terms of learning to 'see'.
Bringing this extensive design and drawing experience to his painting, he is now a full-time artist and popular tutor with many art groups across the country.
Paul has exhibited successfully in the South West region for the last 10 years and is proud to have a painting in the Earl of Wessex's collection.
